Aad Kuijper

After finishing grammar school, Aad Kuijper studied French at the Erasmus University in Nijmegen. He subsequently followed the classical copywriter’s training called ‘12 trades, 13 accidents’. In 1987 he was approached by Paul Meijer and Wim Ubachs to start work as a junior copywriter at DDB Amsterdam. After 6 years and 2 other agencies (PPGH/JWT and ARA/BBDP) he became – at 29 years old – the youngest creative director in the Netherlands for Euro/RSCG. After 2 years he was approached by Lowe Kuiper en Schouten as partner/successor. He helped the agency through its heady growth up to the merger with Lintas. After that, opportunity beckoned from abroad. In 2002 he became creative director at Lowe Paris. A further 2 years later Lowe Amsterdam asked him back to set up an international hub for Unilever as international creative director. Aad won all the prizes there are to be won including the Gouden Loeki twice, many Effies and in 2006 a European Effie for his work for Sun together with Patrick de Zeeuw. Since February 2007, Aad has been co-founder, partner and creative director copy for Alfred International. Aad is 48 years old.
